FEATURED Sister/Brother BAND
The band was born in the year 2003, and was originally composed of Tara (Guitars) and Vonay(Bass). Three years later, the band teamed up with Alphecca to play Second Guitar to form the 2nd set. Later on, [early 2008], siblings Yapi (Vox) and Reymart (Drums) rapped the band up, thus the making of Sefyla's third [and hopefully its final set]. Generally, they started their music mostly influenced by Save Ferris and No Doubt. But in the long run, their music slowly evolved, doing the possible fusion of Jazz, Ska, Reggae, Rock, Blues, to the complexity of Experimental and Progressive DubRock. Although, they prefer to be as versatile as possible; to be open to the more evolving risks, to strengthen the passion for music and its technicalities. As of mid-2008, Sefyla had arranged four original compositions

The Roots REvival was formed out of our love for ReGgae Music. We Tend To Make New Styles ON Our covered songs, Specially Matisyahu's.. Cultured with the crew who have different influential background in music, we are able to blend a different touch of reggae music..

The Roots REvival Band Started year 2005. WE formed a band just to play for an acquiantance party in our university. After that, we enjoyed the band's company and we started to hang-out and have our jamming sessions frequently. And later on, we started to get in the "big picture" which is the reggae scene of cebu.. We started playing outside the campus. We used to have gig in La Mer CAfe in mango square mall together with other contemporary reggae bands.. but until the cafe was closed we decided to lie-low because of our studies, and the other bands(Santing Scalawags, Toy SoulJahs, SkanKin Brews, DomEstic Grass) continued to play after that time,. and we remained stagnant, not until we finished college on yr 2008. then again the "new beginning" of the roots revival has begun,. we then played in RegGae Bars (hideout, outpost, 3 joints) and other events BT monster radio 105.9 hosted (UBEC 4:20 and Bob Marley Day 08)
and for now we are planning to record our songs, and for the meantime we play different versions of MAtisYahu, Bob and Damien Marley and our originals.
So Where Did We Get The Name?
"Roots".. talking bout the roots, have you ever asked yourself "where do i came from?", "who's the lola of my lola?" and the same with that, We are also wonderin where we came from.. we are not talkin' bout families this time.. we are startin to talk about the "Whole" thing.. its our identity! nowadays our world is already blinded by the darkness because of today's culture.. so that's why the Roots revival is here for a purpose,. The purpose of Life.. To Bring Back The Roots of the good old days where the light is rampant, it is time to revive the youth of this nation, bring them back to Jerusalem(d presence of God).. We want you to know where you came from, and where ur goin.. u better make the right move..
so Roots Revival is not Us, but Him in Us, tryn to ignite and revive people's souls through skankin reggae music..
